ROADS

In 2008, a fabric material was installed under a section of Granger Road near Perry Lake Road.  There was less washing out of Granger Road in that area in the Spring of 2009 due to this improvement. Similar GRIP projects are being considered on other parts of Granger Road.

 

In 2009, the Wolf Road approach to Ortonville Road project was completed. The increased pavement and improved drainage allows for safer access to M-15.

 

Since 2000, Brandon Township has re-graveled 40 miles of Township road. Another 14 miles of Township road was scheduled to be re-graveled in 2010. Due to the late start of the project only Dartmouth, Stanton and a section of Oak Hill were completed. In 2011 gravel was added to: Ramsey, Sherwood, Wooley, Burris, Lake Point, Alfred, North Shore, Oakfield, Viola, Viola Court, Bald Eagle Lake Road, Ardsley, Canal, Circle, Douglaston, Glenfield, Masters, Meadow, Palisades, Sunset, West Seymour Lake, Weideman and Reese. 

 

Due to budget constraints the Brandon Township Board of Trustees elected to apply only three applications of chloride to the secondary roads in 2010. After seeing the necessity for more chloride on the heavily traveled secondary roads, the board voted to allocate more funding for chloride in 2011.

 

SIGNS

The Road Commission has specific regulations for decorative street name signs. There have been recent changes to help improve safety by making street signs easier for motorists to read. Click HERE for more information.
